| It was
long overdue for me to see Gowan as a member of STYX, so off to Quebec
City I flew. Upon my arrival at 8am Saturday morning, I decided to
use up what energy I had left to go strolling in the old city of Quebec.
This very picturesque city reminded me of many cities that I have
seen in Europe during the years that I lived there. What a beautiful
place, especially in autumn colours. I climbed the 310 steps along
the promenade and walked over the Plains of Abraham. |

Later
that day I met up with Gowan and proceeded to receive the VIP treatment.
I drove with the band to La Colisee, ate supper with them and was
later given the grand tour by Bob Roper. Having a photo pass, I
was able to roam anywhere I wished to take photos and see the show.
The crew and security were perfect gentlemen.
It
was great meeting the other members of the band. Tommy gave me a
very warm welcome and complimented me on these web pages, in fact
mentioned that if it weren't for these pages, they may not have
joined up with Gowan in the first place. Glen, JY and Todd are also
great guys, joking around, and all accomodated me by signing my
STYX cd jackets. |

The
show: WOW or as the French say: "le mariage Gowan-STYX consommé
devant le public Québécois". It was spectacular. I spent the
first few songs roaming and taking photos, then settled down to
become one of the many fans to enjoy and rock with the show. Gowan's
rendition of "Lady" was spellbounding. The fans went into
a frenzie as Gowan played the first few notes of "A Criminal
Mind". Collectively, the band was a bundle of energy, fun,
magic, and pure joy in what they were doing. It was hard to know
who to watch, but my eyes kept going back to Gowan - he contributes
so much to this band. Tommy sang "A Crystal Ball" so beautifully
- it really moved me. And what did Gowan say to the audience au
français about the other members of STYX who didn't understand
a word of it - he had the fans in stitches?
If
you like good old fashioned rock 'n roll, and STYX comes to your
town, go and have the time of your life. May I present Gowan......
